We are going on the dream may 22 and would like to get
a hotel near by that would pick us up at the airport take us
to the hotel and then take us to the ship the next day.
Any ideas what chain would do this??
There are many Orlando hotels that offer airport transportation. We are staying at the Hampton Inn and they do but I don't know of any Orlando hotel that offers transportation to Port Canaveral, 50+ miles away. We have used Cocoa Beach Shuttle. Two other suggestions would be to buy the ship's transfer and go back to the airport in the morning to get on this or rent a car upon arrival, get a hotel in PC/Cocoa Beach area then drop it off the morning of the cruise. This will give you more freedom to look around Cocoa Beach. We have done this many times. Budget has (had) the closest return location to the port and offers free shuttle service to the port. Enjoy!

If you're unable to find any hotel that has its own transportation, here in Central Florida, Mears runs shared shuttles to and from the airport and many of the area hotels. Mears Transportation Group or 407-423-5566

ohh... there is no hotel that offers transportation from Orlando to the port.
Your options:
1. Disney cruise line shared shuttle (which are run by Mears) - $35 per person each way+ tip - travel time a little more then 2 hours (worst part - long wait in line)
2. Private taxi - $100 total each way + tip - travel time 45 min (make sure to arrive before cruise shuttle!!!)
If you are arriving a day before your cruise go straight to port Canaveral and get a hotel near the port. Hotels right by the port offer transportation to the ship.
I just booked a cruise on the Dream - We are flying in the day before, taking Mears transportation to the hotel (60.00 round trip for 2) - staying at the Rosin Inn at Pointe Orlando (will explain why in a sec) - going back to the airport the next a.m. on Mears to catch a Carnival transfer to the ship (70.00 for 2 people). Staying at the rosin Inn at Pointe Orlando cuz its near Ripleys believe it or not and Wonderworld and dinner show which we plan on doing to kill time during the day and night. Its costing 89.00 for the night. :-)

OP is most likely taking the Carnival Dream out of Canaveral, not the Disney Dream. :-p

since the OP's post was from Feb 2010 and said they were sailing the Dream May 22nd I'd say you are 100% right.
Bill
