PassPort Wait Time????

Thought I would ask here on the PassPort waiting times...
I applied on Jan. 6, 2010, past the 4 week time...
I was told 4 to 6 weeks when I applied...
The $75 check has not cleared my bank as of yet...
Can anyone comment on their actual wait time recently...

I had to get a new passport because I got married, and my name changed. I sent my old passport in with the form & my check $75 ...
they sent me a letter mid-december stating they couldn't process it without a copy of my marraige license...so I mailed that in, and 2 weeks later I had my new passport in hand.

so mine took 4 weeks, but only because I had forgotten to include my marraige license.

My husband and kids had to get theirs last spring. It was 2-3 weeks max from applying and receiving them in the mail.

Hi Bob,

I would think you should have your passport by now unless there's a problem. The fact that your check hasn't cleared worries me a bit .

Did you mail your application Return Receipt Requested? If so, have you gotten the receipt back?

You can check on the status of your passport application. Just follow the directions and links at that page.

We renewed expired passports (sending in expired ones with our apps). The check was cashed within the week -- what? four or five days later -- and we received them about four weeks later.

I remember that our check cleared rather late too. Maybe the same day I got a positive response on their website if I remember correctly. I don't think it would take more than four weeks to clear though. I'd call them tomorrow if your status is still pending and inquire.

Well good news, it came today so took a month & a couple of days....

We are flying to Japan (Okinawa) to visit our daughter & new grand daughter instead of a cruise....

i got mine not too long ago and it took me about a month and a half to get my passport. not too bad
