Default Balcony in the summer HEAT?

Question for those of you that have sailed in the extreme HEAT of summer and the enjoyment and usefulness of having a balcony?

I'm sailing on the LEGEND in mid-July (Western Caribbean) and wondering if the incredible heat (90+ degrees) and high humidity makes it worth it or not to upgrade as I am currently booked in an oceanview cabin.

I love a balcony, at night and during the day. Most of the balconies we've had have been covered, so they are not in direct sunlight all day long. I like to go out there and enjoy the view, have a drink and just relax.

We had a balcony in September and even though it was hot as all get out in the day time, our balcony always seemed to be cool. A breeze always seemed to be coming from the sea and you can't beat waking up in your birthday suit and going from the bed to the bathroom to the balcony, all without putting your skivvies.. lol

Sunrises, Sunsets, Sailaways and dockings are all more enjoyable on the balcony. Try to get one that's portside.

I love relaxing in the sun on the balcony in 90+ degree heat. It really means I'm on vacation and I just find it so relaxing to just lay back and read while sitting in the sun.

having a balcony to me is the only way to go. no matter what the weather is, you always have a private spot to enjoy the scenery.

I allways get a balcony. In the summer it would still be comfortable, and a great place to sit back and have a drink before calling it a night.

I think you got your answer :-) Yes to the balcony, but also remember that there will be a nice breeze while cruising, so it may be up there in temps, chances are, you won't feel it on your balcony. The nights are the best, with a cooler wind, stars, etc....Yea, I'd go for the balcony, well worth it.

Good Points made by all - Thanks!

Should the upgrade fairy call upon me I shall make the balcony upgrade if the price is right!
