I'll leave the response to your questions to some of our resident Conquest experts to chime in, as I've never sailed that particular ship.

But I did want to welcome you to CruiseMates. Get comfy and ask any questions that come to mind.

I too want to welcome you to CruiseMates. You'll not find a nicer bunch of folks, and they are always open to questions about cruising!
Oddly enough, Conquest is one of the very few Carnival ships I haven't been aboard, but I have been aboard all her "sister" ships, and can tell you with confidence that you'll love her. You'll also love Key West. It's a really fun port, and you'll find lots of activities there. The only thing you won't find there are beaches, but your other stop will no doubt offer the beaches that you're probably looking for. Be sure to read the "Carnival Fun Times" that'll be delivered to your cabin each evening, to find the activities aboard ship that you want to do. Enjoy all the shows aboard, as they are EXCELLENT, and relax, and have a wonderful time.

Tonja, you have come to the right board. A warm welcome to you. Ask away. There is always someone with an answer or suggestion.

Carnival Conquest to Nassau and Key West. Take it. We were there last March 2009. Key West is a fun and delightful port to walk around, shop around or drink around. We met the Key West City Councilman on our 15 Day RCCL Voyager Of The Seas cruise -Barcelona to Galveston. He own Dirty Dick's Bar and a few other places. We stopped in to see him last March and almost had to be driven back to the ship. What a fun place.

Nassau. Love that port. Atlantis Resort, beaches, shopping in the main street. A beautiful port. I have some photos when we were there on RCCL

Bottom line, we have been to the Western Caribbean many times on CCL Conquest, Ecstasy, Fantasy but by far we like Eastern Caribbean on Conquest. Oh yes, you'll go to Freeport. Not much to write home about, but enjoy it for what it has.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome. This will be our second cruise, and I'm sure we'll love it. Our first was to Cozumel aboard the Ecstasy in 2007 and we had a terrific time. We just wanted to go somewhere different, and cruising is the best way we've found.

Hi Tonja,
I totally enjoyed my Conquest cruise. The food and entertainment was awesome, and the aft pooL is a hidden jewel.

In Key west, you can do the Conch tour, take a cab to the Southernmost point, visit Mel Fishers gold museum, rent an electric car, and scoot around on your own....this is an easy port to just walk around

Try the key lime pie on a stick, and conch fritters..you will have a ball!

~~~WELCOME TO CRUISEMATES!~~~
Welcome to Cruisemates Tonja, and although I can't help you with the Conquest, maybe if you visit our Reviews page, check out Carnival and Conquest, you might get some more ideas.
Stick around, ask any questions you want, and drop by Chit Chat and meet the others!
