Default carnival info

Does anyone know how soon one can get on board once they are checked in? It says boarding is at 1:30pm, is it truely any sooner??
Also, on an average, how long to get off the ship, get through customs and get to the airport?? I have a 12:45pm flight out and want to know if I will make it...

There are a lot of variables involved, but more often than not the doors open about 11 or 11:30 to start boarding folks. Of course, you can check in earlier than that, but after check-in you'll just have to wait until the ship is cleared and the doors are opened before you can actually board the ship.
Have a GREAT cruise!

Default What port?

Each port is different so is important to know where you are sailing from.

It will depend on the port, but for my family, we like to get to the port early. Any where from 9:30 to 10am is our arrival time at the terminal. Sure, the ship does not start boarding much before noon, but we have been on as early as 11:15. Our vacation starts the moment we look the door at home, so even being at the terminal is a part of the vacation. It is fun to watch, when you can, those debarking the ship and those arriving to board the ship. We have met people from all over the states this way as well as some that were literally just down the road from us. I like sitting there and looking at the ship, my home for the next few days, knowing that soon I will be aboard.

As for departing the ship, I would think that you will be ok. We have always been off the ship and in the car or cab or shuttle by 9am, so you should have plenty of time.

You can board earlier than 1:30 most likely your stateroom will not be ready and if you've traveled that day, you're gonna want to change or get in the pool. The ship will be "open" for you to walk around, lunch will be served but no shops will be open.

We've boarded as early as noon and just sat around and waited. I didn't mind in Miami because from atop the ship you had a great view of the city and the mini islands in Miami.

Like someone mentioned each port is different. I used to be the early bird and want to be first in line to get off the ship for a shore tour but I quickly learned that the sooner you get off the ship, the longer you'll wait for others to fill up your tour.

Just my experience..

Yes, I did not even think to mention which port... Long Beach, CA. The flight is out of LAX. I, too, feel the same way, once the door is locked I am starting my vacation. On my last cruise out of San Pedro, the Monarch of the Seas (RCCL), I arrived at the port early (10 am) and we sat around for awhile - I think until around noon - but I didn't care...I was taking in every moment and thrilled just to be there.
Yeah, on that cruise the cabins were not ready, so we had lunch first. By then, it was ready.

Hi Julie, I usually go by the times Carnival (or whoever) list for their Transfers, whether we use them or not.

Here's what it says on the Carnival site about arrivals and departures:

What are the Flight Guidelines for the Latest Airport Arrivals and Earliest Return Flights:

Latest Flight Arrival:
Arrival into the Los Angeles Airport: 2:30pm

Earliest Flight Departures:
Earliest departures out of the Los Angeles Airport:
12:30pm

Since they think they can you get you there for a 12:30 flight, you should be fine with a flight at 12:45 .

Have a wonderful cruise,
