Default Would you cruise to Bermuda?

It is great news for Carnival that they are adding Charleston, SC as a port terminal year round. The Fantasy will do well out of there I believe.

If Carnival was to offer a cruise to Bermuda from Charleston would you be interested? I for one would love to go to Bermuda but Boston and New York are too far to drive for me.

I added a poll here. If you would like to see Carnival sail to Bermuda from Charleston vote yes, if not vote no, and please leave a note as to reasons why.

For me, Boston is a half hr drive, and Bermuda has never been on my wish list. I never wanted to sail the Atlantic, hoping the seas would be good...I know people who have had rollercoaster rides there, and literally people were laying all over the deck.

I also, never wanted to be tied to a pier, and basically have the ship closed , having the casino, shops, and just soem lounges open with entertainment. I know some of these points have changed, but, it hasn't changed my mind..

Trimmingihams, a big draw for shoppers, has closed there, and the excursions offered, that I might enjoy, seemed would not fill my time there.

I toured the ship, the NCL Majesty, that did the route at the time, and for me I felt it was much too small, so with all the cons, we never did Bermuda.

With all that said, I would enjoy Bermuda as a port of call on my cruise.

I voted yes... but I didnt read it well before I voted. My vote is yes to go there, but I dont even care which port they go there from ... they can go there from Florida too and Id be happy. I think port charges are high is why cruiselines dont go there?? Is that the problem?

I would be the first one in line on a Jacksonville to Bermuda 7 day cruise. Bermuda has intrigued me since studying the island in school as a child. The days at sea would be a plus for me.

Smile Bermuda - Yes!!

I would love to cruise to Bermuda. It's on my "to-go-to" list. Why does Carnival only offer an April cruise? I've been looking at RCL - just haven't booked one yet.

I have sailed to Bermuda in the past and would love to sail there again. I haven't sailed there again mainly due to cost, But I would love to see Carnival sail there more than one time per season and at a reasonable cost. I would be reluctant to sail on the "Fantasy" though. The larger class ships offer so much more, amenity wise, and appeal to me more than the Fantasy class ships.

I talked to my PVP with Carnival yesterday and she told me that Bermuda is a very difficult destination to add because they only allow so many cruise ship visits per year. She said that the reason is due to environmental concerns.

I assume that is why most cruises to Bermuda only go there from NY and Boston. It is an easy 7 day cruise from there and the southern ports have the Bahamas and Caribbean to sail to.

Either way, Bermuda is on my got to go to list!

TRIP..we have done Bermuda 12 times..first with R oyal Majesty and then NCL.. Yes, they restrict the number of passengers so that when you dock you don't feel your in Nassau or St. Thomas with hundreds of passengers leaving the ships and crowding the streets. Now with the NCL Dawn and Holland American from Boston hopefully you will change your mind..The big draw is that you are in Bermuda for three days...it's not.. if today is Tuesday this must be St. Thomas and if today is Wednesday it must be Cozumel.. Bermuda is a really laid back island and the Bermudians themselves really are lovely people and go out of their way to help people, they and their children are very curteous and the bus/ferry system works very well. Yes, it isn't the same Bermuda as it was ten years ago with Smith's gone and St. George quiet. For us, the same amount of time to the port, it doesn't require flying... just drive to Black Falcon Pier, unload the luggage to the grateful and curteous longshoremen, park the car across the road... and within minutes and the efficient system you on vacation. No flying, no hotels, just a short drive into Boston and by noon your on vacation.
