Default great pants for hot climates at Old Navy

I found the best very light weight cargo pants this week at Old Navy, they sit on the upper hip, have a soft stretchy waist that has a draw-string, and lots of pockets that SNAP closed; no buttons.

Also, they DO have roll-up bottoms to turn them into shorts. Here is a link to their copy online:

These will be great for ladies to wear with a tank or camisole or other shirt. I got dark gray and khaki, but they also have beige and black and dark army green. If they had white in stock I would have gotten them too. Very comfy! Thinking of going back today for the dark army green!

I like long pants even in a hot climate because if my bad leg is actying up, I have to wear medicated pads containing Lidocaine in addition to my pain medication and of course I won't wear shorts ad it looks horrible - to me at least. I do wear shorts or capris when my leg is having what I call a "good" day where I only need the pills.

THANK YOU! These are perfect. I have leg issues by times as well and on bad days I have to wear braces (ankle to knee) so it isn't fun to wear shorts. Especially when the public can still be as cruel as they can sometimes be. These cargo's look comfy and I bet they would be great for travelling by air as well. Thanks for the tip : )

I will be in Champaign tomorrow, think I'll stop by O.N. and see if they have these in stock and try them on. I have a heck of a time finding pants that fit right. thanks!

Yes, when I put them on I immediately thought about how comfy they would be to wear while on my two flights each way, between Chicago and Miami. Again, you don't want to swelter in a hot climate and these are perfect, very light! Good to find some folks who understand and have similar reasons for finding the right pants!

While I don't mind wearing my medicated pads in shorts around the house, yes, is can be very difficult going out in public with them, or braces, I imagine or even an ace bandage onw has to wrap around a leg or knee due to an injury or permanent joint or other problem.

These look so comfortable!

Michelle, do they run true to size? I need a Petite, but they don't have my size listed .

Beenie, do you shop at ON often? Do you know if they might have different sizes in the store?

Also, are they supposed to be "wrinkley" as shown ? I'm not very fashion forward !

Thanks Michelle,

yes they are supposed to have that slightly wrinkled look... but you could probaboy gently iron them if you wanted... they re casual after all.

I read comments people posted on that old navy site that they seemed shorter after washing so keep that in mind. The pair I got seems true to size for me.

I always wash my stuff in cold water and use the light cycle in my dryer so it is not likely to shrink.

I would also go to the store , not buy off internet, so you get a size that fits right!

Thanks for the info, Michelle.

I'll definitely go to the store to try these on! I have a couple of stores I buy from that I'm comfortable with ordering on line, but I've never tried Old Navy.

I usually wear jeans on the plane, but these look so much more comfortable .

yes, I'm planning to wear white keds, the gray cargo pants and a long gray v-neck sweater on the plane. I'll carry a gray tank top rolled up in my boarding bag to change into before I deplane in Miami. Have two flights each way (I stop in Dallas/Fort Worth both flight days). Should be very comfy in these pants!
