Fellow cruisers, I want to plan a trip that goes as follows...
Fly to Hawaii, stay a few days, then take a cruise ship back from Hawaii to, lets say, San Francisco. Does this exist? Which cruise line does one way trips?

I did a quick search, I found several that leave from LA or SD and come back, I see some that leave HI and end up in Mexico or down by Australia but didn't find anything so far that leaves HI and ends up in San Fran.
But that sounds like a good time if it can be found! :-)

Yes, very few cruises use San Francisco, unfortunately. It is a beautiful port and city.
But all cruises need to visit a foriegn port, which makes sailing out of San Diego or Seattle much more practical.
Some cruises take a Hawaii run during repositioning between Mexico and Alaska, so while they come back to the U.S. they often then proceed to San Francisco. But the Jones act would preclude you from getting off if that was the case.

NCL sails the Pride of America around Hawaii, but not between HI and CA.
