Default Dining Room Arrangements

I have seen many posts about changing dining room/table assignments with the Maitre D (I think that's right) as soon as you embark. We are going on the Miracle on the 28th of Mar and just found out a couple we know just signed up for the cruise on the 28th, We would like to sit at the same table. Does it really work going to the Maitre D as soon as you get onboard. And what is the correct procedure? Any help is appreciated.

From sunny but cold Florida.

You can try and get it dealt with in advance by getting your friends booking # and having your travel agent cross reference your booking with your friends.

Have the friend make the same request through their travel agent, and it should ensure you're assigned dining to be the same.

If it turns out to be wrong, a trip to the Maitre D should be able to remedy it.

To see the Maitre' D depends upon what time you get aboard. If you get aboard by 12 or so you probably won't be able to see him/ her at that time. Look at the welcome aboard caper that's in your stateroom and it will have somewhere on there listed as to where and what time the Maitre' D will be available regarding changes in times, seating, etc. Be forewarned, if it says for example he will be available at such and such place at 2 p.m., if you show up at 2, there probably will be several dozen ahead of you so go earlier than the stated time.

We had booked a cruise and then a few weeks later found that friends
had booked the same cruise so we had our travel agent call carnival
and take care of us all sitting together and it was not a problem at all.
Like one other person said they cross referenced our booking.

But if it is the first night go and ask the Maitre D and I am sure they
will be happy to take care of that for you.

One time we were sitting with people that we did not know and were not
friendly so we asked to be moved and that was not a problem either.
so they will try hard to make you happy....

My dining room arrangements have been solved. I contacted my Personal Vacation Planner at Carnival and she had already linked our reservations and we will all be sitting at the same table. I do appreciate all the inputs. You all are, as always, a wealth of information. Thanks!
