We've sailed from Galveston, Miami, Vancouver, BC and NOLA. We have our first sailing from California soon. We need to try the other Florida ports sometime.

Due to my skills at finding deals on air and hotel, we have managed to make the away ports very affordable.

A benefit here on CM is the group cruises options where one could get a pretty good bargain once you factor in the added benefits that go along with a group cruise.

I wonder if its the port or the ship that makes much a difference. Or, is it the destinations that becomes a deciding factor over cost?

For me it is the people that I am sailing with ... the destination is 2nd choice. I've sailed from Port Canaveral 1X, Tampa 1X, New Orleans 4X, Galveston 2X, will be sailing from Calif in Aug, and from Miami in Feb '11, all of these were because of the people I was going with. I will admit that the Feb trip on the Glory has destinations that I've always wanted to go to, what a plus that it turned out the all the people I like cruising with are going too!
