Grand Cayman will have the largest amount of stores to choose from. As to haow much to take that is completely up to your budget. You can pay a little or a lot. Depends on what exactly you are looking for.

do not be surprised if the ship offers some pretty good deals..the 1st night of sailing check out the onboard stores to get a price for what you might purchase in port and then compare once you are on the island
i'm not a shopper but if you were going to the eastern ports i would say St. Thomas
I agree with nlb 1050 Grand Cayman is an excellent shopping port. Cozumel is also a very good port to shop in. Remember you can negotiate price more in Cozumel. Either way you will get some great deals. Enjoy

I too agree that out of your ports, Grand Cayman is the best for jewelry. Do take a look aboard ship before you venture out, so you've got something to compare to. You just might find that the shipboard prices are pretty good!
The weatern itinerary is not known for great shopping. If you like silver Cozumel is the place...Grand Cayman, hs some of the shops in the eastern Carib, but, this is a wealthy port, and their shopping reflects this.
