Savannah is a great city, I'd sail from there.

That would be wonderful, since it is only a two hour drive for me. I would most definitely cruise out of Savannah and more than likely spend a day or two at Hilton Head.

Savannah is great and there is more to do and see historically than in Jacksonville. This would be a good move for Carnival and the sailing time would not increase too very much as the sea distance from Jax to Savannah is short.

I've been wondering why Savannah doesn't have at least one cruise ship. Like others, I would love to sail out of that great town.

I have never been to Savannah and would welcome the chance to visit there. My question would be, How long does it take to get to the open ocean? It took us nearly 2 hours at Jacksonville. As long as they don't stop only at Nassau and Freeport those stops are about worn out, and stuffed down cruisers throats to the point that I want to gag.

I propose a new route: Eastern Seaboard of the United States.

Savannah - Charleston - Norfolk - Baltimore - New York - Boston - Portland.

I'll go !!!

Love the idea....Port Canaveral is a hop skip and jump from Jacksonville, why not move the ship to Savannah. Oh wait, Carnival just moved one to Charleston, less then 100 miles up the coast. Would Norfolk be a better place for the ship?

Unfortunately, this won't happen unless the PSA (Passenger Services Act) is repealed. The PSA says that a passenger ship MUST call at a "foreign" port before returning to the US. The only exception is NCL's Hawaii cruise.

I'd like to cruise the east coast, too ,

while Norfolk is much closer to my home in Pa. than Savannah I don't like the Idea unless they would call on Bermuda. Look at Baltimore as an Example; cruises are to Port Canavarel, Nassua, Freeport "YUCK" what a boring worn out itenery. The problem lies in the fact that more exotic ports are to far away to sail there and back in a 7 day cruise. I guess those of in the northeast are stuck. We either sail to Canada and New England, Bermuda from NJ or Ny or Europe from NY, or that boring trip from Baltimore, or we fly to Florida to sail from there.

I hear ya...Charleston would be closest to us but who wants to go to the Bahamas. I would go to Bermuda if it was offered though!!
