Default staterooms

Hi
My wife and I are going on our first cruise and have just received our stateroom. It is an oceanview room on the back of the boat. It is on the highest level of rooms. Should we be OK?

You should be fine. Which ship are you on? The larger Spirit, Destiny and Dream class ships do not have much movement in the aft section.

If you are VERY susceptible to movement then you may want to go with a lower deck toward the center of the ship.

Take care,
Mike

We are on the Fantasy. I figure we are not going to be in the cabin very much anyway, just wondering. Any other suggestions for a 1st timer

On our first cruise they up graded us to the Riveria Deck, Ocean view cabin. We didn't know much about cruising so we agreed. They placed us in a rear cabin. It was very nice room but we had a lot of propeller vibration, and linehandling noise. For now on we always select a balcony stateroom located in the middle-middle part of the ship. In the middle part of the ship you are less likely to feel any viberation and less movement. My wife gets seasick without the patch. The sea doesn't bother me...I'm prior U.S. Navy Destroyer Sailor. Have a great first cruise.
