Cruising out of Galveston

Ok, we cruise in 26 days and we always drive to our ports. We have never been to Galveston and are wondering about hotels and resturants. Does anyone have any great suggestions for us????? Thanks in advance guys!

Galveston Hotels - which to choose?

I would suggest the Hotel Galvez or The harbor house. The harbor house is right next to the cruise terminal. The restaurant Gaidos Seafood Restaurant is really good. Also when booking a hotel go thru Priceline.com and you can usely get cheaper rooms that way.
