Please help. Have been on 4 Carnival cruises and 2 RCCL cruises. I have to say I love Carnival. My dh thinks we should venture out and try other lines to see what we are missing. Wants to try Celebrity Summit due to the itinerary. I am nervous we will miss the Carnival 'fun'. We are in our early 50's but still like to have some fun. Any opinions out there? Will we regret it?

I think you can enjoy yourself, no problem...The things like dancing on the table in the dr, and hairy chest contests will be missing, and many would applaude that...For me, and I only speak for myself, I would get bored sailing the same line every cruise...mixing it up a bit could be an adventure, look at it that way

The lovely Mrs. Jones (Vita) and I haven't done "Summit", but we have done lots of other Celebrity cruises, (as well as lots of others) and I can say with confidence, that you'll have a super good time aboard the Celebrity ship. Is it different,,,well,,,,yes, but in a nice way. Like Trip says, you won't see the "Hairy Chest Contest" but I doubt that was one of the highlights of your cruise anyway. You will find lots of other activities that you'll enjoy, as well as service that may, or may not be a notch above what you've grown to expect, and food that is a bit different than you've enjoyed at Carnival, but is excellent! So venture forth, and enjoy your "Summit" cruise,,then come back and tell us what you think.
I'm the type that truly believes that a cruise is what you make it. As much as I love Carnival, we have ventured out onto other lines and we have no regrets whatsoever. For now because we have younger children we'll probably cruise Carnival the most but I would be willing to try almost any major cruise line. My husband would say variety is the spice of life and he'd hop on any ship and make his own brand of fun. Good Luck and happy sailing.

My experience cruising on Celebrity several years ago was delightful. The service was outstanding and the food was fantastic. The ship was clean and offered many activities. The atmosphere was a little subdued compared to Carnival but I had a good time. I look forward to another Celebrity cruise when the opportunity arises.

I'm with you Littletime. I think a cruise is what you make it. I'm the one who wants to switch up, hubby is a little leery. But I'm pretty sure DH and I could have a good time on even the stuffier ships. Hopefully one day I'll get to find out.
