Sorry Phil, but nope we won't be doing a CruiseMates group for that cruise.
For a number of reasons.... among other things.. on the Blogger's cruise out of New Orleans Carnival's sales dept. were very difficult to deal with because we were offering a better deal than they were, and actually made our agent stop accepting bookings, until they could allow other sites to catch up, and then made us raise our prices. They made the process ridiculously difficult for our agent... even though we had the largest group within the Blogger's group on that cruise.
As a result, we won't be putting together a group for this one, nor promoting it here.
Aside from that we've already got a CruiseMates group cruise in the same time frame.. Feb. '11. on Sapphire Princess to and from Hawaii.

No problem Kuki. Im sure both your cruise and the group of us here on CM booked on the BC4 will have wonderful time on their respective sailings.
If we were able to take the extended time off for the Hawaii cruise we would be booked on it for sure. We sailed with you as group host in NOLA and had a great time.
I agree the process last time was poorly handled. Nancy (nor the pax) deserved to be handled the way they were then.

Haven't been there done that. How many people actually book the PBL code for the bloggers cruise - a few hundred or more?? I am an avid Blog reader, but time and money have prevented me from even considering a BC cruise in the past, but am strongly considering this one as I believe I will have these dates free as of now anyway. I've enjoyed his blog so much I guess I should take my first cruise with him!! Also is there any real advantage or disadvantage to the early savers deal?? Yes, the early saver deals are worthwhile. Not only do you save money but you also get a price guaranty if the price goes lower, so you have nothing to lose by booking early and getting the best selection.

Aside from that I found it a fun cruise, but not really that much different from any other Carnival cruise. The only other best part was the CruiseMates cocktail party.
I like John heald, but in truth I find his "humor" a little too heavy on "potty" and a little light on "funny". That's Okay, he has a lot of fans and doesn't need my adulation. As I said, I like him, I just don't really get the celebrity. I often wonder of he gets it, either.

I have jumped on board and booked the bloggers cruise. I'd like to meet John and going to ports I've been two for a third cruise in a row just means I can leave 75% of the spending money at home!!!!! I've nevef been part of a group cruise, so this should be interesting. Perhaps this cruise I'll bring a thick book and force myself to read it on deck while in port!!!!!!
I wasn't planning to go until the end of March and I esd planning on the Splendor in Mexico, but this opportunity is too good to pass up and I'll go on the Splendor later. Oddly enough, I asked if I could book Early Saver rate for the bloggers cruise and the answer was no, perhaps cuz of he activities that will be planned. It was almost $280 more for the PBl code vs ES for a 8A. I wanted a higher deck balcony, alas, finances must be considered......
On the flip side the Glory will be a repeat ship (and a nice one at that now with a seaside theater), and I will have been to three of the four ports (Nassau will be a first time) for a third cruise in a row!! No worries, the ports are great!!!!
Now, all I have to do is A) win the lottery, B) Find sa friend who'll share the cost (that I get along good/great with), and or bring my teenaged niece and see if her parents will let her miss a week of school....
