Default Make sure you know ALL of the people in your group

We just got back from our E. Caribbean cruise on the Liberty. It was fantastic..I expected that....what I didn't expect was the behavior of some in our group.

We didn't know them before the cruise, because they were friends of a friend of a friend.
There were two women in paticular(sp) that were very crude and rude to the staff at dinner, the staff at the Purser's desk and to the rest of the original Funseekers group.

It just goes to show that not everyone has the class, up bringing and the education to know how to act towards other people.

Using the "f" bomb as if it was a normal word and dressing like they should be working in a strip club w/ certain upper body parts hanging out Was way too much for the rest of us.

Please do research on the people who you may travel with and go on a cruise with. Avoid the embarrisment.
I sure wish we would have done this before this cruise. We planned for this cruise over a year and work very hard to make it special.

Somehow we didn't run into each other on the Liberty. The weather was the best that I have ever experienced on a cruise. The ocean looked like a lake for most of the week. The Captain said that it was so calm that their was no need to deploy the stabilizers.

Years ago I had a friend who always seemed to have a psycho girlfriend. After a few drinks they always got into an argument. We included my friend and his psycho girlfriend of the month to a weeks rental in the Bahamas and true to form they got into a physical argument. It wasn't pretty and at the weeks end we all had to fly back to the USA in a small plane and then drive back home. I learned my lesson.

I'm currently in cruise withdrawal

You never know what being away from home, in a different atmosphere, and alcohol can do to some people..many figure they will never see these people again so what the heck...

Was this group formed to get group rates, or just a bunch, that wanted to go on a cruise together? Was it the intent for everyone to do everything together, and also dine together? Just curious, did anyone say anything to the culprits of this bad behavior?

RW - so sorry it didn't work out with the FoF - the bad part is that people then associated these people directly with you.

GEEEEZZZE,,,I hate when that happens! It is so embarrassing to be associated with someone who acts that way! Oh well, live and learn. (Bet they don't get invited to come along on the next cruise!)

Can be a problem with people met online too I should think, same as misinterpreting things "said" online, people's character can also be misjudged.

That just proves the old saying " never take an idiot traveling with you--you can always pick one up when you get there " has a ring of truth to it !

Ha! Ha! good one, Ron.

By the Board....I am also in serious cruise withdrawal, having a hard time adjusting to my work routine, just want to be on the Dream staring at the ocean with a drink in my hand. Glad you enjoyed your cruise, I loved my cruise on the Liberty.

You never know!! On our last cruise (Celebrity Infinity through the Panama Canal) we signed up with an online group *edited for commercial content* to meet on board. They gave us all tags so we would know each other. The funny thing was that we were stopped frequently by people who thought we were somehow "official" to ask questions or comment on things that had happened. We actually met more people that way than within the group itself. It was a hoot.

I know what you mean....imagine our surprise when some folks got "flashed" by a woman in our group in the Main Dining Room..... at least it wasn't on Elegant Night.....
