I am going on the Fasination out of Jacksonville with several friends. I need to know of a good hotel on the beach near the port. We plan on going 3 days before we sail and would like to be on the beach. I don't know that much about Jacksonville. I would appreciate any information.

I live in Neptune Beach, FL which is approx. 12 miles from the cruise terminal. Ocean front rooms are pricey. Before I could recommend a hotel it would help to know your price range. There are some hotels that are near the ocean that would be less expensive.

I too am sailing on the Fascination (next year), however I'm looking for a hotel that allows you to park your car for FREE while you're at sea and also provides a FREE shuttle to/from the port.
All the national hotel/motel chains operate at the Jacksonville International Airport. I suggest that you contact your favorite chain and pose that very question. The temporary cruise port is in an industrial area and the closest hotel is the Holiday Inn Express (approx. 1 mile). I called them and got a runaround since I would not make a reservation with them. Why would they not confirm a shuttle service? There is parking at the port in an open area lot.
FYI: I am retired and do not work in the travel industry in any capacity.

Thanks, I'll take a much closer look at Jacksonville hotels and such when I get closer to my cruise date.
