Just wondering if anyone has been successful in cancelling a cruise to get an OBC? I see Carnival is now offering $160 OBC for new bookings only!! I haven't made final payment, and figured if I book a different cabin would I then be able to get this promotion? It is a good offer that I don't want to miss out on. My current booking is not Early Saver, so I have no penalties to worry about if I did cancel and there are still lots of cabins available at the same price
I tried cancelling mine in Dec. to get the credit, but they said the ship I was on did not qualify for the OBC..
Anthem of the Seas 10/2015 Europe
Carnival Miracle 09/2013 Alaska
Carnival Conquest 12/2010 West Caribbean
Royal Caribbean 11/2008 Mediterranean
Carnival Ecstasy 07/2007 West Caribbean
Carnival Spirit 06/2005 Alaska
Disney Magic 11/2004 Eastern Caribbean
Carnival Spirit 07/2003 Alaska
Disney Magic 07/2002 Eastern Caribbean
Let us know if it works out. Generally there ARE penalties unless the cruise is more than three to five months out, even if you are not in Early Savers.
They have Early Savers for a reason - so people have a chance to get lower fares. If it was as easy as you describe (just cancelling and rebooking) then they wouldn't need the price guarantee.
We successfully received this OBC, we didn't have to cancel our existing booking. We are booked in a suite and there was no price change so that is possibly why we were able to get it without having to cancel. I got an email from my TA today and checked my booking on Carnival and sure enough it is there Plus we had only made our booking two weeks prior to this promotion!!
