I'm thinking of doing a back to back cruise for the first time. Does anyone know if I will have to pack up all my luggage and disembark, then get back in line and check in again? Also, will my dinner table stay the same? When I book a back to back cruise, can I choose a different cabin for the 2nd cruise if I wanted to?

Most likely your dinner table would change...
If you stay in the same cabin on both cruises, just tell your room steward so he knows your not nutz for leaveing stuff...if you change rooms most time they let you take the luggage to the room and leave it. *and yes you can have differ cabins)
You will have to get off and get back on thru customs, but most times a officer will escort you so its a faster line and boarding than before.
Hope that helps...the best part of a BTB cruise, is the first day of the second portion when you have the whole ship to yourself for a few hours.

When we did a B2B on RCI in 08 ,we didn't have to get off the ship. If you did get off then you had to wait for embarkation before boarding. This May (2010) we did a B2B2B
from LA to Alaska via Vancouver. We had to go thru US customs in Van before leaving for Alaska . We where escorted off the ship and thru US customs (20 minutes) .

All we did was get a new S&S card and went back to our room. We did customs at the end of our 2 week cruise. We won't do the same ship anymore for our back to back everything is the same down to the jokes from the CD you may go to different ports but thats it.. We change ships. Off one on another.
You asked about being able to keep your same table assignment. We recently did a B2B on the Oasis of the Seas. During the first week, we had to request a new table, on the first day. I told the Head Waiter, assisting us, that we would be on for a B2B. He gave me his card and told me select the table that I wanted for the next week, and let him know. Perhaps, on the second day of your cruise, you could put in your request for the next week.
The Oasis was such a large ship, with so much going on, it took us 2 weeks to see everything. It was wonderful!
Enjoy your B2B!

If you book early enough you can keep the same cabin for both cruise's. If you have to change cabin's your Room Steward will help you by bringing a cart for hanging things and (sometimes!), just exchange the drawers.
Turn around day is "hit or miss". We've had thing's go incredibly smoothly and we've had thing's incredibly messed up ! The best thing is that you're staying onboard for another cruise!
We only do Anytime Dining, so I can't help with that, but I think if you ask to have the same dining room team there won't be a problem.
Have a wonderful cruise!

I do not know for sure but I have met people that doa back to back cruise and there luggage stays on as long as you have the same room. Good luck and enjoy.

On our B2B we had the same cabin . The maitre'd asked if we wanted the same DR team . That was a big mistake , should of changed to the team originally assigned.

I've done a B2B in same cabin, B2B changing cabins and even as the Dutchmen mentioned B2B on different ships. They all have advantages and disadvantages so you need to have an idea of what you want your experience to be by doing a B2B. I think the Oasis would probably be a good choice for a B2B as Ready2 did and at least get a ship that has alternating itineraries. You usually get a gift basket on the 2nd leg of the B2B and if you arrange it you can pick your dining table as well. Enjoy it if you do it.
