About to book first cruise on Liberty

Hello everyone, I'm new here and a first time cruiser. Been married 19 years and my husband and I are finally going to book our first cruise. We are thinking about the Liberty at the end of July, anyone have any advice, words of wisdom or general thoughts about the ship? Thanks a million

My favorite ship to date...I loved the food, the staff, the decor...I loved it all..That is one ship that I would cruise for the ship and just the ship, not caring about itin.

We last cruised aboard the Liberty. It is a very good ship. Make sure that you try the "Fish & Chips" bar. They have the best fryed Oysters and home made chips. When you first board the ship & are itching for the buffet, usually the lines arel long. But don't panic, just go up the stairs to the next deck, (above the buffet), and there you'll find the fish & chips bar. Hardly anyone knows of it, so there won't be a line. They also have other types of seafood. Ill attach some photos of the Liberty...We hope that your first cruise is wonderful!...Dave & Diane.

I agree that "Liberty" is truly a GREAT ship. Just go aboard with a positive attitude, and don't let the "small stuff" annoy you. Like noted above, when you first board it seems the lines are long, and there may be a problem finding a table, but that's only because nobody is allowed into their cabin until about 1:30, so EVERYBODY is in the buffet. Just relax, enjoy the festive mood, and at 1:30 all those crowds will clear out, and the FUN begins.

I wholeheartedly agree with everyone's positive comments about the Liberty, my personal favorite Carnival ship. I think you will be pleasantly surprised by the service, food, decor and entertainment. Our cruise experience was outstanding in every way. As Skymaster stated, "don't let the small stuff annoy you". Of course there are lines at the buffet on embarkation day, relax, have a drink, explore the ship, it's the first day of your cruise. Also, there are lines at the elevators when a show in the lounge ends or when everyone is trying to get off the ship at the ports of call or at dinner time...again, relax, you're on vacation, they are not going to run out of food or alcohol. As far as chair hogs are concerned, if you stay away from the main Lido deck pool area, there are plenty of lounge chairs to be found all over the ship. A lot of people also complain about the size of the pools, this is not a land based resort, the pools are designed to allow people to cool off, not swim laps. Try to adjust your schedule to eat at off hours at the buffet...there are no lines. Peruse the Fun Times every day and highlight the events you would like to attend (there are plenty of them) but be flexible. The Liberty is a great ship, good food, wonderful service and I am looking forward to sailing on her again and again and again.

I've cruised Liberty back in 07 for our 25th. anniversary and will be cruising her again this December with whole family , I love her, great ship

Let me just add my 2 cents....we cruised the Liberty last fall, and loved it..before I found out I was going to host the NCL Epic, I was lookintg to do it again..they had one date that had a different itinerary, and that's the one I wanted to do..Have a ball, looks like we all did!
