Default A Transpotation and a luggage question.

Hello all,

I could probably research this myself but thought I would just ask the real experts here first. Will be sailing out of Miami in late November aboard the Destiny. Managed to find some decent airfare despite the Holiday craziness but will be flying into Ft Lauderdale.

First Question- Best bet for getting from Ft Lauderdale to Miami. We are arriving the morning of the cruise. Use the Carnival transfer? Do they offer it from there? Taxi? Other?

Second Question- Our flight home is not until 7PM so we will be spending a good part of the day in Ft Lauderdale departure day. Will Carnival send the luggage to Ft Lauderdale airport? I know they do this in the port city but not sure if they will send it up 95? We jst don't wanna lug it around and would not mind finding something to do during the day.

Thanks in advance for any advice/suggestions!

A car service (limo) is usually the best bet. Should be about $50 - $60.

It is usually better to fly in MIA if you are sailing out of Miami.

A taxi from FLL to the Miami port will be about $75 (I have had to do it)

I've sailed from both Miami and Fort Lauderdale, but flew to the desired city both times.

I'd compare the prices of airfaire to the prices of renting a car and parking, if I were going to do that.

In the future, my wife and I have already decided never to fly again, unless someone else is paying for us to fly First Class. To cruise, we'll travel to the desired ports by land.

As mentioned, SAS Transport Quality Shuttle Service at Affordable Prices, is a reliable, and, at only $15.00 a person, it's a great deal...I have used them before and will again, next month.

I agree with the above posters who recommended SAS Transportation, they have a very good reputation in south Florida and are very reasonable.

Can't help you with your second question, I kind of think they don't process luggage to Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood Int'l airport. Maybe you can check your luggage with your departing airline and take a taxi from the airport to the beach? restaurant?

There is (was) a program called Luggage Express that Carnival offered.

Need to go to their site to get details as to whether it is offered in that port.
