I think the Modified 1A cabins on Dream tended to be on one of the higher decks.
Some 1As may have a twin bed and a convertible single sofa, a number will certainly have a twin bed and a bunk that is normally in the ceiling and no sofa.
Here is an example of a modified 1A on Dream (no sofa)
Mr. P & L Z C is correct ... no one has sailed on Magic yet, why don't you just book him a handicapped room and be done with it.
The pictures Z C posted are exactly what my room looked like on Carnival Splendor. It was a "handicapped" 1A no sofa, only a small cocktail table and a desk chair. The room was huge, and I loved the bathroom, it made me wish I could always get a room like that one. If it wasn't for the risk of being bumped for a handicapped person, I'd book this catagory more often.
I'm glad Max is going with us on Bloggers 4

Thanks ZC for the specs and pics. Maybe I can use the specs as a guide for what cabin/ location I would like to match to on Magic.
Looks like cabins 9352 or 9353 would be good. We are booked on deck 9 aft at the momemnt on Magic and he could be midship same deck.
Maybe I will resurrect this thread when Magic sails Europe.
Thanks y'all.

20 years ago we had Johnny Cash, Bob Hope and Steve Jobs. Now we have no Cash, no Hope and no Jobs. Please don't let Kevin Bacon die.
The 1As that would have a sofa are usually the ones all the way at the front of the ship on lower decks. Some of those have porthole or two, but are not modified.
There are also some "inside" cabins at the front of the ship that have obstructed views. Some of those are modified. Those are 4Js.
When buyng a future cruise certificate on Ecstasy a few weeks ago, I asked about Magic. I was told that I would LOVE the HC cabins as they were very well designed. We'll see. I travel with a scooter and must have space to plug it in and not trip over it at night.
