Default Freedom 1/15 Southern 8 Day!!!

Well I booked a cruise after taking a little time away from cruising...well, 1 yr. It seemed like longer. At first I had a Norwegian booked out of NYC but cancelled it in 24 hrs because I got cold feet with NYC and Norwegian. My wife and I are taking an 8 day on the Carnival Freedom on Jan.15-2011. Stops are Cozumel, Panama, and Costa Rica. Ive obviously been to Cozumel but I have never been to Panama and Costa Rica. Any advice out there on excursions, ship tips, etc. would be greatly appreciated. My wife and I usually always book our excursions on our own or do the "cabby take me there" type excursion. I'm sure you cruisemates cruisers will be able to direct me in the right direction.. Also, anybody experience this ship. I've been on the Victory and the Pride and enjoyed them both. Thanks in advance, Bill

We are doing the same cruise a month later. Will probably do the kayak excursion in Panama. You might want to investigate something besides finding a cab therte. Colon is a commercial port, not like most of the cruise ports you may be familiar with.

Default Colon, Limon

I was on the Freedom last year on that Itinerary. Carnival warns you not to go off on your own to these ports, But in Limon we took the Rainforest tour which includes a two hours ride down the river looking for Crocs and Monkeys in the trees and we saw no Crocs but did see Holler and Spider Monkeys and a sloth climbing a tree. Seeing them in the wild so cool. Colon shipping containers everywhere. There are a couple of shops in the complex but take a tour just don't go outside the complex. I am booked on Liberty 7 day Nov 13th Eastern Carribean same exact ship as Freedom which you will love. Ed
