What do you think? It's basically the same itinerary for each cruise (Eastern Caribbean) It would be the Carnival Liberty (which we have been on) or the Ruby Princess. Just having some difficulty deciding whether to try Princess or stick with Carnival. Thanks!
Our first 3 cruises were with Princess and we loved each one. One thing I really love about Princess is the desserts at night. I feel they have the best!

If you can afford it go ahead and try Ruby - we sailed her this summer and enjoyed ourselves. The Princess experience is different than Carnival. If you don't want to spend more $ enjoy a cruise on Liberty.

Alaska 2014 - haven't picked a cruise yet
Carnival: Glory 2004, Destiny 2008, Splendor 2009, Freedom 2011, Valor 2012
Celebrity: Summit 2011
Princess: Ruby 2010, Caribbean 2013
I think each cruise line delivers great cruises. Both have good food and entertainment. I think the most distinctive difference is, Princess has a more laid back atmophere, while Carnival has a hightened level.
Since you have sailed CCl, give Princess a shot, if a calmer atmosphere is something you would enjoy.
I have enjoyed both lines...

Choose Carnival if you want to party or Princess if you want to relax. I'm getting too old for partying. I'm booked on the Crown for 2011 and was on the Emerald last March. Both are sister ships to the Ruby. I've been on Carnival four times and Princess twice. My advice is to give Princess a shot. It's a step up.

I've sailed on both cruise lines but have decided to stay with Princess...maybe it's because I'm in my mid sixties, or maybe it's the way Princess has a more personal approach to service, on or off the ship, which does impress me. Carnival is also more into party, party, many kids, whereas Princess is more about relaxing, with an emphasis on spa treatments, wine tasting, etc. Just my opinion of course. Good Luck.
