Default First time on CCL for honeymoon

Hey guys,

I'm new to the boards. I've been cruising around them for awhile and decided to post. My fiance and I will be traveling on the Mexican Riviera Splendor cruise next November for our honeymoon. This will be my first time on CCL, I've been on two RCCL cruises. This will be his first cruise. I can't wait as I LOVE cruising. He is more skeptical, lol. How is CCL compared to RCCL? Are there any tips at all? Thanks

Meg

I think you will Carnival is a bit "crazioer" than RCL. Expect the staff to be friendlier and more interactive with you; singing waiters, conga lines, etc.

Most people think the food is better on Carnival (and I agree).

The ships are not high-tech wonders like RCL - they are more like Alice in Wonderland. They are not cheap-looking, but they decor is very complex and not exactly out of Homes & Gardens.

Carnival is truly a "fun ship" - let your hair down and enjoy the craziness, that is their specialty.

Thanks for the info. I'm super excited. The last time I cruised I was just graduating high school and with my parents and brother. I've been through the Port of Los Angeles before, but never as an "adult." Is it pretty easy to navigate through all the steps when boarding the ship and whatnot? Where's the best/cheapest place to park?

megm,

Just a FYI for you. The Splendor sails out of Long Beach not San Pedro, so make sure you go to the right port.

Happy Sailing!
