Default Obstructed view balconies, good deal?

I KNOW that I read somewhere on this forum that if choosing obstructed view balconies some were better than others, and that, other than blocking the view looking straight down-they were fine for getting the sun and viewing ahead. I can not locate the message! Can anyone either "tell me where to go", or repeat their knowledge? We are looking at booking back to back 8 day cruises on the Miracle-so an obstructed view would save us a considerable amount. Thank you.

I have never had an obstructed view cabin. That said I imagine it can be compared to owning a ocien view condo. Close but no cigar.

There are obstructed view cabins (7A) on the Spirit class ships (Legend, Pride, Spirit, Miracle) have lifeboats in front. The first three lifeboats are taller and the top of the lifeboat is even with the top of the balcony so you probably wouldn't be able to see much sitting down. With all the other lifeboats, the top is even with the balcony floor so you have no problems looking out while sitting, you just can't look straight down.
