booking airfare?

Ive been looking to book my air for my January cruise but haven't yet due to the higher than expected prices. Now, I will book regardless eventually but it sure seems that prices are way higher than ever before. I look several times a day every day hoping to get lucky but nothing yet. Any advice on the best time of the month or week or whatever. I heard about Tuesdays at 10am but I haven't had much luck with that yet! Any help would be so appreciated. Thanks, Bill

I have read that airline prices are indeed higher than usual.

Many travel sites include price alerts. These allow you the pick a route and get a period summary of prices for those routes. I know Kayak offers this service and am pretty sure I have seen it on other sites.

I would continue to keep checking and when you feel it is at a price you can deal with, then book it. I too feel the prices are quite high these days...

If you look at www.expedia.com I found round trip tickets on Air Tran for 229.80 per person all taxes included. You need to fly out of Columbus, Ohio to Fort Lauderdale airport codes are CMH TO FLL. I dated your departues 1/14/2011 - 1/23/2011 this would be good flying in the day before. For hotel look at LaQuinta Inns Cruiseport which has free shuttles to the ship. I hope I helped. If you are closer to Detroit Michigan there are good fares there too. And if you have not been on the Freedom you will love it. They have Million dollar entertainment and Great food, Have a great cruise. Please let me know if this helps. Ed

Also there is a really early 6:30 am non-stop flight Pittsburg to Fort Lauderdale for $207.12 all taxes included on Air Tran. Ed

Thanks a million everyone. I actually changed my cruise from Jan 15-23 to Jan 1-9.....still on the Freedom but a better itinerary imo.
