Default Question on Berthing in Curacao

Posted this question a while back. Think maybe it got lost in the Spendor ordeal. So here it is again:

Last time we were in Curacao the pier where we docked was right by the old fort and within easy walking distance to the pontoon bridge and the downtown section. I have been told that the Carnival Miracle actually sails up the river by the pontoon bridge and under the high rise bridge and docks further up. That would make a long walk back to the downtown area. Is that true where the Carnival Miracle docks? If so are there waer taxis to go back downtown? Thanks for any info.

The last time we stopped at Curacao the "new" pier was just up and around the bend aways from the floating bridge, past a new shopping and restaurant area.

A bit further, but still quite walkable.

Its actually a nice dock area and as Kuki mentioned, not a long walk into town.

When we were there the dock part was obviously new(2004) & we walked into town, on the way back the swing bridge was open so we took the ferry, very efficient too.
