Default Paradise Beach or Nachi Cocum?

My hubby and I will be spending the day in Cozumel and would like to go to a beach. Which would you recommend?

I loved Nachi Cocum. It was a very nice place to spend the day. Uncrowded and relaxing. The service was great and all-inclusive of food and drinks. I would recommend for couples or families. The pool and the beach were very nice.

Did you book online for Nachi Cocum or did you just show up? By the looks of the pictures it is beautiful. Paradise Beach has some bad reviews of murky water?
I am trying to decide what to do in Cozumel as well.

We have been to Nachi Cocum twice and have loved it both times. Since they limit the attendance to 100 guests per day, I would book in advance.

Take a look at the reviews and decide for yourself.

Hi,
I have been to Paradise twice 2006 and 2007 with my 2 teen age daughters and liked it. I went to Nachi this month with 2 girlfriends and really liked it also. The water and beach at Nachi were nicer than Paradise and it was much quieter than Paradise. We did the all inclusive at Nachi the service was great and I had a fabulous lunch. I ate lunch at Paradise and it was OK nothing special. My vote if it is just you and your spouse and you want a more relaxing day I would go with Nachi.

Thanks everyone. RaggedyAnn, I think you're right about it being a better "couples" place. I think I'll make the reservations!

How far in advance would you book for Nachi Cocum?

I think we booked Nachi Cocum between 45 and 60 days in advance. A few things to consider are the time of year and how many ships will be in port (if known).

For us it provided that "It's Real!" feeling after we received the confirmation. With only a 100 people a day limit, we wanted to make sure we had it taken care of.

I think the deposit is around $12 a person.

You might want to check out the new Ocean Resort Beach. They only take 50 reservations per day. For $40.00 you get unlimited drinks, all you can eat buffet and they include the floats, snorkling and kayaks. Cozumel Water Sports handles the reservations. Very easy process. We've done Nachi several times and on our last visit in August the food was so so, drinks were lousy and service was pretty much non-existent. The place was packed - standing room only in the pool and every chair filled - way more than 100 people. If you are not into reservations then try Palancar Beach Club - more laid back, excellent food and service.

Have to agree with you on Dave for President. He has excellent advice as he has been to these ports more than almost anyone. I believe he has 26 cruises on the Legend alone and knows everyone in these ports. We hooked up with him in Belieze and had a ball.He will be on Dream next month back to back and we will be in St. Maarten same day on another ship and hope to hook up with him on what to do.

Is Ocean Resort Beach reservation only (like Nachi) or do they take walk ins?
