Default Getting alcohol onboard...

On Carnivals website it says that only people of age 21 and over can have alcohol and only one bottle of wine or champagne. Do they really check? is it possible to put a fifth or two into your luggage and sneak it on or do they search every bag? I will be on the Carnival Pride

They may not search every bag - but then again they might. Quite a bit of alcohol does get confiscated. Search these forums for the term "sneaking alcohol" and you will see many comments.

Each adult can carry 1 bottle of wine or champagne aboard, in your carry on luggage. I'm not sure what method of detection is used, but they now detect most of the alcohol that is located in the checked luggage. If they see anything questionable (including multiple bottles of mouthwash), the luggage is set aside. I'm not sure if they open the luggage for inspection, or put it aside and ask the owner to open it. Either way, the alcohol will be kept until the last night of the cruise. I do hear of some alcohol making it past the scanner, but I hear more stories of alcohol that was found.

you can use rumruners (easytravelerinc.com) or you can buy new water bottle caps at (camocaps.net) you are allowed 12 12oz. non alcholic beverages, so the water bottle
caps work good.
let us know how you make out, good luck

Some friends of mine snuck vodka on board in a water bottle. No one looked, they just assumed it was water.

Every time I read about sneaking alcohol on board I begin to have high school flashbacks.

Personally, i'm pretty happy with one bottle per adult. Its more than RC allows.

What's the easiest way to get alcohol onboard a cruise ship?

Buy it.

I can help you with that Kuki. You just need to figure out how you can each fit inside an empty box from a 12-pack of Pepsi !

Just an FYI...Dressing your wife up as Julie from the Love Boat and trying to pass her off as the cruise director doesn't work. I'm not saying how I know, just trust me on this.

Default Sneaking Booze onboard

I donít want to be setting a bad example or anything, just telling of my experiences.
I've been cruising for 11 years and have taken booze onboard with me every time. Usually a bottle of rum or a 12 pack of beer. I simply put it in my checked baggage and have never yet had it taken away or even ask about it. Itís always funny to watch people plop down 24 packs of beer on the conveyor belt to run through x-ray and watch their reaction when it gets confiscated.
Many times I've brought bottles of booze back onboard after a shore excursion by just holding it under my towel. And then too when you do bring booze back onboard after a shore excursion, they tell you to go over to the table and check it in, instead just tuck it under your arm and walk on by the table, I've never had them stop me yet. Now Iím not telling anyone to do this, just relating what Iíve done in the past. I would imagine that someday I will be ďcaughtĒ and they will confiscate my bottle. But when that happens, no big deal, Iíll still have a good time because I love cruising.

We just got back from a cruise on the Conquest out of Galveston. We carried on a small rolling suitcase with 2 bottles of wine + corkscrew and lots of bottled water and sodas. No one ever looked inside our suitcase (though maybe they could sell from the xray). I think I could have taken more wine. Next time I would mess with taking sodas. Though not cheap ($1.75 I think on board), not that expenive either.

Our travel agent also sent us a bottle of wine, so we ended up with 3. All I needed was 1 more!

All I want is beer and CCL does not list that
I really like Corona or Hinekin but 12 pack of budwiser cans might pass as soda in
checked in luggage ? :-)
If nothing works I will just buy $5/bottle, $70 at most not bad....
