What does Carnival have that no other cruise line does?

What makes Carnival special in your mind... the thing it has that no other cruise has?

skymaster December 17th, 2010 02:06 PM

Karaoke EVERY night, and the Carnival Legends Show. (Although, it's time to introduce some NEW legends IMO, as some of the current ones were never legends to begin with, and also most folks who cruise Carnival a lot are tired of seeing the same legends over and over again.)

Sky you are so right. I wont even go to the Legends show anymore since they have the same legends and sing the same old songs. Ricky Martin a legend?

Aerogirl December 17th, 2010 03:16 PM

Chocolate melting cake :-)

zydecocruiser December 17th, 2010 07:07 PM

Value.

Carnival has lots of "things" that collectively make it Carnival.

An example of one "thing" would be Senior Maitre 'd Ken Byrne

No truer words were ever spoken...

Funship Freddie - Joe Farcus (well, not exactly) - John Heald - winged smoke stacks - Mongolian Barbeque, better free food, the best pizza, free sushi.

Water slides (big ones), rock music nightclubs...

I think you meant to say "SINGING, rather than Senior. (Of course I guess he could be the "Singing, Senior Maitre'd)

His title is Senior Maitre d'. John Heald's title is Senior Cruise Director.

so it could be singing, senior maitre d' :-P

skymaster December 18th, 2010 07:27 PM

HA! I never thought of that! I thought you meant that he was an OLD Maitre'd, who could sing. Then he'd be" Senior, Singing, Senior Maitre'd Ken.

We agree with all the posts thus far.

We still want to try other lines but at the moment we have only sailed CCL.

FREE 24X7 soft serve/frozen yogurt! A BIG plus in my book!

Three Things

1. Chocolate Melting Cake. . .yum

2. Perhaps larger state rooms than most other cruise lines have.

3. Holding the record for number of cans of Spam served to guests on board a cruise ship. ;)

Chocolate Melting Cake - mmmmm.

Other than that, I think it is the (Generally) cheap fares that makes Carnival stand out. From what I can tell, Carnival also has best patronage program. I like feeling rewarded for my loyalty, even if it is only 1 or 2 cruises.

I agree....Chocolate Melting Cake too!!

That community feel.

It just doesn't exist on any other line I've yet sailed.

lhp December 22nd, 2010 11:19 AM

Since I have never cruised another cruise line...I can't say what another line does (or does not) have....

we cruise Carnival for many reasons.

The most important is the care they have given our son with Autism over the years. He is so comfortable on a Carnival ship now, it is like he gets to be a "normal" kid for a week.

priceless !!!!!
