On our first, and so far only, Carnival cruise on the Paradise out of Los Angeles, we hated, hated, hated finding virtually every chair, couch, settee and stool covered in vinyl. Even in the library where my better half wanted a comfortable chair to sit and read. Our impression was that Carnival wanted to be able to hose down their ship interiors after each voyage. So we've never returned -- Princess, HAL and RCi have no aversion to real fabrics.
To be fair, was this an anomaly on the Paradise? Would we be happier with Carnival's newer ships?
