HI All, I'm interested in reading comments about Carnival freedom from those who have sailed on her. 8 Day Eastern Caribbean
Hi there. There is a section here at CruiseMates where you can read reviews provided by fellow cruisers. I'll provide a link if you haven't had a chance to take a look yet. There is a ton of good information located here.
Just got off of the Freedom on the 18th. Did a 6 day. The service on the Freedom is the best we have experienced on all of our cruises. The food was excellent, as was all of our contacts with ships crew. The decor is typical of all Carnival ships, but you can stay home and get boring. I look forward to sailing on her in the future. I would like to do an 8 day maybe in 2012. Just have to wait and see.
We had cabin 7338. Great location , not too noisy, and close to the elevators to go up or down to eat, or hit the casino. As I said the staff was great. We celebrated my wifes 60th. Bday on the cruise. I had the cabin decorated, and a cake delivered at dinner on her Bday. All came off without a hitch.
I highly recommend the Freedom.
I would be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Enjoy
Gary I.

Great choice! We had the pleasure of sailing on her twice. In an interior lido cabin for her inaugural US sailing, and an aft wrap for her 6 night Western itinerary. I know the ship inside out now so feel free to ask away! She's a lovely ship and we were very excited to have the opportunity to go back. Just enough to do, and everything is still in excellent condition. Of our Carnival cruises, our last Freedom cruise actually had the best dining yet! Also, a new addition was the adult-only Serenity deck.
Overall I definitely recommend the ship, but as I said, if you have specific questions, feel free to post or DM me.

I really enjoyed the Freedom..The food & service was great, as well as the entertainment...We had supper club reservations but we cancelled them because the food was that good, and our table was so much fun...
I would sail her again in a NY minute. Enjoy!

Freedom 8n is one of the cruises I am considering for my November vacation this year. I like her itinerary. Lots of ports, lots to explore, and just enough sea time to really enjoy.

My opinions are mine and mine alone. They do not represent the opinions of The Walt Disney Company nor any of its subsidiaries.
It is one of the newest Carnival ships - which are all good. The only Carnival ships I am not cvrazy about are the Fantasy-class ones.
The decor is "unusual"
Someday, when Farcus has moved on, these Carnival ships will be classics for the decor, like old Thunderbirds.
Think "Vegas" along with a bit of Disney-like fantasy.
Other than decor - you will love the staterooms, service and food. There is really nothing to complain about with a Carnival cruise - they do what they do very well.

We were on a 6-Day the second week of January. Great time. To be more specefic the band Music Motion is on Freedom right now which was definately one of the highlights of this cruise depending on your musical tastes. They mostly play 70's and 80's music and they throw is a little humor in some of their songs and some of their singer impressions are amazing. The guitarist definately has some mad skills. I highly recomend sticking around until they at least play "Free Bird"
There was also a single guy in the lobby (mostly) playing acoustic guitar who was also good.
We made a good connection with a few crew members that were also from Canada. One from Winnipeg (2 hours from here) another that once considered going to university here in Brandon (Manitoba) for basketball. Another from Vancouver and another from the Toronto area.
Shout out to Tyson, Chelsea, Calvin, & Natasha! You guys were great!
I tried the Fish & Chips, it was "Not bad" IMHO but I am also from Atlantic Canada so I am a little hard to impress. Suggestion for Fish & Chips would be eliminate the showstring style fries and replace them with steak fries.

When we were there in 2008 we did a beach break. Lots of great stuff (excursions) to do but if you don't do an excursion and just choose to walk around the streets, beware the Gauntlet of local people trying to sell you a tour or something. Just keep walking and say, "No Thanks". They are great people, but very persistant. If you try to be polite, listen to what they say, and THEN say no, I got the impression that they wern't too happy spending all the time giving you a sales pitch that you turned down anyway.

Music Motion is fabulous! They've been w/ CCL for 10 years, which is Legend on a ship! I've sailed a couple times with them.
Something about a female drummer always stands out
