We went on the behind the scenes tour last year on the Splendor - yes, the Splendor. It was interesting. Lasted about three hours. Lots of walking. The cost was around $115 each. We recieved a backpack, hat, lanyard, two photos (one as a group and one with the captain on the bridge). When we returned to our cabin there were chocolates as well as the soap sculptures we saw them demonstrate earlier. It was interesting and a good "excursion" for one of the at sea days. No cameras are permitted.
I wanted to know how to book the tour for behind the scenes, (FREEDOM) and how much it costs and when does it take place.
Thanks for all your help.
When I did the tour on Imagination in November, I had not seen it on the website list of excursions, but saw signs for it around the ship, and registered for it at the excursion desk. For Imagination, it was $55. We got a lanyard, hat, picture, and the chocolate covered strawberries. Once you get on the ship, talk to the shorex people.

We tried to book a "Behind the Fun" tour on our October cruise on the Dream but we were too late. The other posters are correct, you can't book the tour before the cruise like you would other shore excursions. When we went on our Thanksgiving cruise on the Elation, we went directly to the excursion desk (even before lunch on the Lido) and booked the ship's tour. The tour itself is always on the last sea day. We enjoyed it very much and intend to repeat it on other Carnival ships in the future.

We did this tour last month on the Miracle. We enjoyed it very much, I posted an account of it on the boards here.
Look on the back page of your shore excursion guide that comes with your initial fun times when you get on the ship. The tour cost us $95.00 each and was a blast!
There were only 17 spots open for this excursion so you might want to book it as soon as the shore excursion desk opens!
