Default Are drink coupons worth the price?

Saw drink coupons for sale on Carnival.com and considered getting some as a gift during our cruise.

Can you buy any kind of drink with those coupons? My friend drinks long island ice teas most of the time but don't want to get him those and he ends up having to pay money towards his drink anyway, if that's the case I can just say I'll buy you 4 drinks throughout the cruise. But thought it'd be a nice gift that would be waiting for him in the cabin.

Anybody know? Thanks!

You do have to pay the difference between the value of the coupon. Some people have said some bartenders don't charge the difference though. The face value of the coupon is now $5.75 and the price for four is still $21.25 which includes 15% gratutity. So you are saving a little over $1/drink even if you do have to pay the difference.

But the coupons won't be waiting in the cabin - they are distributed during the first night at dinner.

Sometimes it can be worth it. However, sometimes people don't use all the coupons and this is where they get ripped.
