Port of San Juan and Booze
 

i see alot of posts about sneaking on alcohol and such, but when i cruised June 09 out of PR on the Victory, we were allowed to bring on booze with no questions asked in our carry-on's. I am doing the same cruise on March 6 out of San Juan, and i was wondering if anyone has recently done that cruise and if they have changed the rules, we want to get beer before we get to the pier because they only sold hard stuff there. Thanks! :D

We're booked for Feb 20 and I'd be interested to know too! Either way we've got our Rum Runners ready to go just in case ;) we didn't buy Carnival transfers and are planning to take a cab to a liquor store then to the port. Any other experiences/advice are appreciated :) cheers!

we are going May 1 and also would like to know how you make out. Also, did Rum Runners do the job? I'm referring to checked baggage of course. Thanks.

Again, I can't speak for San Juan yet but the Rum Runners usually do the job. I've never had a problem with them in my checked bags at embarkation and last time I even carried one back on board in Ocho Rios! Just wrapped it in my beach towel, and voila! I had a nice bottle of Belvedere IX for me to enjoy on the Serenity deck the next day :D
