Do most people buy the insurance from Carnival or from other insurance sources. I booked our cruise on the Carnival site and held off on the insurance option until I knew it was just as good as any other.
Keep in mind that if you buy the coverage within 2 weeks of booking the trip you will have pre existing conditions coverage. If you buy it after the two week time you lose pre existing coverage.
Remember to try to get the airfare and hotel bookings included, too.
Get the cancel for any reason and the medivac coverage.

In recent memory, cruise lines have gone under.....buying cruise insurance sold by the line, meant absolutley nothing. I remember seeing the big Rd Boat padlocked in Nassau...the passengers and crew, were told to leave, and, fend for themselves.
Buying from a 3rd party is good business sense...
