What good hotels are there in Jacksonville, FLorida to stay in the night before. How are the inside cabins on the main deck? My first cruise with 3 boys and soooo excited can't stop looking at alllll the info about the ship.

I can't help with the Hotel, my sister lives in the area. I will however state that I am not a fan of inside cabins. They do not offer any natural light, which can be bothersome to some. The ocean view stateroom would offer natural light through a window. I like to watch the ocean, and a trip to the lido deck isn't always fesable, it also affords the kids a view of the ports and ocean from a safe location.

I never mind the inside cabins. I'm almost never in the room for any extended time unless it's night, when there is no natural light. For many yes, they get claustraphobic or really uncomfortable in some way in an inside cabin. Some demand balconies. I love inside rooms, leaves me more money for other things outside the cabin. Plus, if you have a rough seas night and the boat is listing, the lower, middle cabins roll move a lot less than the fancy high up outer rooms (center of pivot). Don't count them out, it may be just fine for you.

Hi, We live in Jacksonville and also have been on this ship. I would suggest staying at the beach for a night if you do not live near the beach. Check out either JAcksonville BEach for deals or if you want to spend a little more check out Ocean One in Atlantic Beac-Very Nice& about 15 miles from the port! Otherwise, there is a Hampton Inn located at Monument Rd Exit off of 9A over the Dames Point Bridge that looks nice, not a great area at night, but only a few miles from the Port. Otherwise if you are looking for safety but do not care about being close to the Port, stay at the Beach.

Oh, I forgot to talk about the ship. We left our kids at home, they were too young at the time. We saw lots of kid though and wish we would have brought them. We had an interior cabin and loved it! Our room backed up to the art gallery hallway. Very quiet, surprisingly! We had low expectations since we have been on really nice ships and actually left really pleased. Best of Luck and Have Fun!

We were on the fascination in Feb 2011. Great service. We had a room with a balcony. Our kids are all grown so it was just the 2 of us. There is lots for the kids to do. We were told that there were about 700 kids on board. Never would have guessed that. We stayed at the Holiday inn Express in Jacksoncville. It was a verynice Hotel. What deck are you on?

We have done the inside cabins, but prefer at least a window. A great option is the Porthole cabins. They are the same price as an interior cabin and the price is the same for all porthole cabins. (A higher deck doesnt increase the price.) As long as you dont mind being in the forward part of the ship these rooms are a great deal.

Default Jacksonville Hotel

We are staying at the Jacksonville Plaza Hotel and Suites. They offer free shuttle to and from port for 2 people. Rate was only $78.46 and that included taxes. We will not be arriving until around 11 pm so I decided it would be find for just a placed to sleep.

Stayed here many times....nice clean hotel, friendly staff. Check on that free transfer to the port, last time I was there it cost an additional $15.00 p/p.
