Nassau or Freeport Bahams excursions help

Hi,
I am looking for some excrusion information to book on my upcoming trip 1st week of March.

3/3/2011 Nassau, Bahamas 11:00 AM 10:00 PM
3/4/2011 Freeport, Bahamas 7:00 AM 2:00 PM

In Nassau we want to explore the Atlantis (I think there is a day pass to visit the complex? Not to use water park etc.)

We also want to do snorkle at one of the ports.
What's a good non-Carnival snorkel excrusion shop?
If you have a web site please send me the link.
I hope it will be warm enough to do this.

Any other suggestions for either of these ports for beach break etc. ?

Simply take the water taxi or cab over to the Atlantis..you can see the Aquarium or The Dig, for a fee...both great take- ins. The shops and casino are worth checking out....Lunch there will be pricey.

My gf alwaya snorkels in Freeport..adores it there..and she loves the Grand Lucaya area, if that will help at all.

By March the coolness you can sometimes get in the Bahamas is but a memory..figure what Florida has for weather, you can expect there.

Here is what I did about a year ago in Freeport (Our Lucaya) and Nassau (snorkel). The snorkel trip through Carnival was actually less than what I could book it on my own for, plus they picked us up near the cruise ship instead of me having to take a taxi to their location.

The tour of Atlantis is great and well worth the price....the Aquarium is the best I have ever seen...Casino was rated the largest in the World at one time...furnishings unmatched anywhere....free alcohol...long as you gamble...penny slots are whatever....lots of taxis at the port...make ~$6:00 pp.

I have decided to do following.
Any suggestions to fill in the rest of the day at Nassau?

Nassau: Stingray at Blackbeard Cay... Has any one done that?
The reviews on tripadvisor were good for this.
It will be 1 -4 PM (lunch, beach day etc.)
Is Atlantis day trip afterwards worth for the price they charge?

Freeport: Paradise cove (8 am - 1pm), snorkeling and beach.
Not much time left for anything else.
People had very good feedback on tripadvisor for this place.

At some point, Atlantis stops charging - maybe 7pm? The crew probably knows.

It will always be warm enough to snorkel in the Bahamas and you can also try a trip where you can swim with the manatees.

I think Florida is about the only place I've heard of.

Hey Robert, I see your sailing date has passed. What did you decide to do and what were your impressions? We are looking at the same ports, plus Key West.

Hi,
We recently visited Nassau,Bahamas and Freeport,Bahamas.
Nassau - Stingray Adventure at Blackbeard's Cay
Kids loved getting in water with Stingrays (Search for them on tripadvisor).
They have a very nice beach as well.
I think cost with lunch and ferry to island was $43 pp. It's about 4 hr. excursion. Then we (wife) shopped at the market next to Senor Frogs.
Freeport - Kids and I took the Paradise point snorkeling (35 pp) about 5 hr excursion.
Nice beach and people were frendly with snorkeling instructions etc.
Unfortunately you have to swim further to see any fish. Shallow water was cold so we didn't do much snorkeling. In warmer weather this might be a better place to visit.

In Freeport we LOVED the catamaran tour htat we did - Catamaran Snorkeling and Sailing in Freeport Bahamas Cruise Excursions

beautiful boat and the snorkeling was pretty good (not quite Grand Cayman but nice)

in Nassau we did the Hilton Day beach Day Pass ,we've done Altantis before and couldn't be bothered with all of that....just wanted to get away from the crowds and relax:-)
