Carnival Gift Certificates

I have some Carnival gift certificates in my possession. They were purchased through carnival.com. Does anyone know if you can bring them to the purser's desk on the cruise to be applied toward your sign and sail balance? Or do you always have to mail them to Carnival prior to your cruise?

If they say Funship Dollars on them I'm pretty sure they have to be mailed in. They did have 2 different versions going for awhile though.

I would call Carnival. I had some mailed to me once, and was able to call Carnival, and they were added to my S and S card.

I finally was able to check in with Carnival. They advised me that as long as they are "Fun Ship" Dollars AND they specifically have written both "purchase a cruise" and "On Board Credit, Apply Credit to" options on the certificate, one is able to bring them on board, go to the Purser's Desk, and have them applied as on board credit (applied to your S&S card). She did advise there are two other types of certificates out there - one being a school fundraiser type certificate - and that you are not able to use those on board.

i never used them. Are they limited to what can be purchased?
