Wow, first cruise-- dreaming about it for the past 2 years but a member here for the past 5......now that's really something!

How exciting to have finally booked that first cruise! Just wanted to say congratulations to you!

thx.. its hard when you're on a tight budget...and each time we thought we could afford it, something else would come up.. car needing repairs, new roof on house, etc..

Did you just recently book....? Just curious because you tend to get a better price when you book well in advance, like at least 5 months prior to sailing. We had some friends that wanted to hop the boat on our upcoming Spirit cruise and the price jumped to about a grand a person last time we checked.

Yes...been watching the price closely for about a year..it didn't change at all.. up or down.. 4 day cruise.. we were waiting to lock in a very very low air rate (booked it seperate from the cruise) and Air Canada had a 20% Valentines Day sale.. so we went for it..

Awesome! Glad to hear you didn't get raked! Hopefully someone will respond to your request for some menu copies soon...or maybe you can request them through Carnival...?

I've not been on that ship but they will probably offer the chocolate melting cake for after. You must try.

Go to the 'Faq' section at the Carnival site. Search on 'menu' and you'll find sample menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner (7-day for dinner).

I gained 5 pounds reading it.

OH for sure.. I will be posting photos and talking about it for a long time.. I'm still hoping someone has the actual menus from the Carnival Imagination? I still can't find them anywhere online, and the sample ones in the FAQ just aren't the same.. lol..

Our first cruise was also on the Imagination. We absolutely loved that ship. We've been on the larger ships twice after that, and booked on the Splendor, another large ship for May 1 2011, but we miss that smaller ship and just everything about it.

If you plan on eating breakfast on the Lido deck, look for the omelet station. Some first time cruisers don't find out about it until they've been on the ship for a day or two. Also, if you're a big coffee drinker, take along your own travel mug (or pick one up in the gift shop on board). Saves on trips to the brewing station. But most of all, be prepared to have a good time!

The cruise we just completed, someone told us about the Steak House so we tried it and it was worth the extra cost. Plan for at least an hour and a half to 2 hours for your dining experience.

I thought the Imagination didn't have a steakhouse?

There is no "SteakHouse" on this ship or other "Fantasy Class" ships.
