The luggage tags you have printed are only to get your bags to your stateroom.
The last day of the cruise you will receive new luggage tags with a number on them. This number defines disembarkation order AND where to find your bags in the terminal. The assignment of disembarkation numbers is based on a secret formula that probably has to do with your status with Carnival (VIP or not) and when your flight leaves - that is why the ask for it on your Fun Pass.
If you don't have to catch an early flight, why hurry off the ship.
All I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by; John Masefield

Hi mosiegirl! Yeah, mine for Destiny next week are purple too-but it says on the tags that they can be printed in black and white, that it doesn't have to be color....so I don't know if it actually means anything or not...haha
I believe it just helps them sort all the luggage when embarkation. With that many pieces of luggage they probably do what they can to make it easier to make sure everybody gets the right luggage. Even if you print it black and white it still has your deck and room on it. The color just hurry the process along.
The color for boarding is different than getting off the ship. Your purple color helps the crew deliver you bags to the right cabin/deck. The colors to get off have to do with the time you get to leave the ship. Once you get your luggage, just throw those tags away, you will not be using them again.
When you exit into the terminal, you will find most of the luggage is black...A sea of black ....Try to put something on your luggage to make identifying your pieces quickly..this is where people get very creative.I have seen crime scene tape, and bright bath scubbys
Trip, with her book & tea!
