Default Grand Cayman

Has anyone ever tried taking the public buses to 7 mile beach? The price is cheap and it looks pretty easy? I don't use public transportation here in the country so doing it in a strange place would make me a little nervous.
The things I am reading about taxi's in Grand Cayman sound a little sketchy.
We've always taken taxi's in other ports and never had a problem.

I have not, but, if there was any port, where I would say go for it, it would there...I am sure others will post if they have done it...

I agree with Trip.

If you run short on time coming back...you can always grab a taxi.

Grand Cayman is very safe.

The only crime you have to worry about is being robbed by their high prices.... We met some people from the Elation that took us to lunch....5 people...for lunch $176.00 !!!

Just there last week. There is a local bus "station" one street back off the main drag. I'm sure anyone could direct you. The taxis cost $2.50 US to any destination (Turtle Farm, Hell, Dolphin Adventure, etc) and the same back. There's a stop at 7-mile beach with beach chairs, umbrellas, and a tourist-trap bar "Calico Jack's". You just stand out at the taxi sign and flag them down. We took a taxi all around the island for $10 for 2. Just got on at the terminal and then stayed until he went back. We got a little tour of the island.
