Updo/Hair Style

Does anybody know if you can get an updo or your hair fixed for Formal Night and how much it runs?

Trip March 30th, 2011 06:51 PM

You certainly can,..the last time I remember seeing a price for this, I believe it was $80.00.

Last September on the Liberty I called to see what it would cost to have my hair trimmed. I did not want it styled or blow dried. Just a trim was $60. I decided it could wait until I got home.

Salon services charges, are indeed jaw dropping, compared to land prices for sure, and, the $80.00 price I saw was years ago:(

I can't help with the price but if you do decide that you want it done get your appointment set as early as possible. I did get a haircut once on a cruise and yes it cost much more that I would normally spend but it was probably the best cut I had had in years and since.

Nancy, I would agree..the best cut I ever got was onboard, and I must have found the price palatable...I have short hair..this was many cruises ago.

When we sailed on the Ocean Princess we had two sisters as table mates. They were very nice ladies. One of the sisters had a rather plain haircut and left herself quite plain.

On the first formal night she said she was going to have a "makeover" in the salon. I have to tell you that when she walked to the table my jaw noticeably dropped. She was stunning. They had done a complete restyling and coloring of her hair and perfect job with makeup.

I told her that she would now have to buy a stick to beat back all guys that would be hitting on her. ;):D

You sure could tell how much she loved her new look.

Betty, still to this day, remembers my face when she sat down at the table. Betty reminds me of it quite often. Usually when I'm in the doghouse. ;)

Take care,
Mike

I just thought it might be nice because we are in an interior room and drying my hair will heat the place up and I hate to be sweating in the formal pictures. LOL
Thanks for all the good info. 10 days and counting!!!!!!

My sister paid either 50 or 60 for just a style. We have went to a beauty supply store and bought those clips on..you just sort of bundle your hair up and put one of those clips on that already has curls in it and go. Also, I take it you are going out of New Orleans...did you find a good deal on hotel there for the pre cruise night..we are going out of New Orleans in 5 weeks also.

We live in Huntsville, so we are driving down the day of the cruise.
