My husband and I and our 5 year old son are going on the Carnival Glory in 2 weeks. I was wondering if anyone has been to Costa Maya and Belize and could tell me what is a nice beach to go to that doesn't cost that much.
I have heard of a nice beach in Costa Maya, that must be the one. I had tried to see if we could go on our own, but you had to book with the cruiseline. I think that is the one, heard all good things about it, had to miss that excursion.
We went to "Costa Maya" aboard the Carnival Victory a few cruises ago. Here's a few photos of the beach and surrounding areas. Yes the beaches are very nice. In this port there's not a lot there. There are a number of touristy shops at the head of the pier. We hope that you enjoy your cruise....Please have a "Mojito" for me. Dave & Diane.

In Belize there is a shore excursion to Goeff's cave which you can book directly through Carnival. They will come to the ship and pick you up and return you when the trip is over. Great little and I mean little island with some great snorkeling around. They will lead the way and point out all the neat stuff...Its a good 20 minute boat ride, but at least you don't have to take the tender all the way into port which is a fairly long tender ride. You can still have time to take a tender into the port if you want to walk around the shops there after your excursion.
