New Hotel in NORTH Charleston, right off Interstate 26.
At the edge of the fairly new Tanger Outlet Mall. (There is a Sam's Club with a liquor store, no membership required to buy liquor, a Walmart and a bunch of restaurants surrounding the mall.)
It also close to the North Charleston Coliseum and Convention center. (just hope we don't have a big show the night you are there. Just had Prince last week. Crazy packed.)
The area is also packed with hotels, as the airport is 5 minutes away.

You will be about 15-20 minute ride from the pier downtown.

Hope that helps.

Bill

It does, you told me about a few things I didn't know were around the hotel. Thanks!

newlywed,

the pier is located near port authority in the old battery. mt. pleasant is close by, so is isle of palms. we like the charleston crab house for finer steak and seafood and southside brewery for steaks, burgers, and other such fare (plus the beer!).

we love charleston and visit every summer. there are some very nice hotels in the battery, but they are on the pricey side. if you can swing it, some of the old houses in the area have been converted into inns and are just beautiful. we usually stay in a small town about 45 minutes south of charleston. this year, we are driving down the night before the cruise and staying in mt. pleasant, which is across the harbor.
