My cousin is coming to visit from California. She has decided to cruise with me. She being claustrophobic wants a balcony cabin. We took an aft facing balcony on Vista deck. That cabin was cheaper than the 1A was for me to go single. So I plan to enjoy it. We got 9476 and I am looking forward to it.

I'd consider it a slightly larger, improved version of a "Conquest Class" vessel. For the entire cruise, we never felt any rocking, or movement at all! Yes, we did have relatively calm seas, but the ship is very well stabilized. Food was excellent, as well as service in the dining room. Entertainment was outstanding, with three new production shows. Some people were complaining about the young lady who sang in the atrium almost every night, but frankly, I thought she was very good! Lots and lots of loungers on multiple decks, so that if you don't have to be near the main pool, you'll have no problem finding an excellent lounger. Serenity area was nice too, but that did get crowded toward the end of the cruise, as more people found out about it. We got upgraded from our usual inside cabin, to a deluxe ocean view. It turned out to be an excellent cabin,,,oversized with two separate bathrooms, and a mini-tub.
Bottom line,,,,go aboard with a positive attitude,,,,do a bit of pre planning to avoid the big crowds going ashore just as soon as the ship is cleared, and waiting to come back at the last moment, and you're going to have a GREAT cruise!

Again, why is a 3 year old post drawing attention? Lots of stuff has happened between 2011 and now.

Chief, maybe it's because there's just not much news anymore--not much to talk about. It's basically dwindled down to a few people and not much discussion nor many real questions about ships, lines, cruising, etc like it was years ago.
Maybe everyone now has become an experienced cruiser and just don't need to ask any relevant questions.
Notice how in the last 2-3 years it's gotten to more of a social site than a cruise related site?
Things change, so they say.
Just a thought.

Ron,

You may be right. It just bothers me that folks quote old posts like it happened yesterday and perhaps a new cruiser would not understand that whatever it was happened several years ago and is no longer valid. And then, maybe a few trolls delight in bringing up past stuff. Guess I'll just use common sense ( of which there is some doubt that I have any ) and keep on cruising.

Oh, I agree with you 100 % Chief. I've seen some posts that were 10-12 years old brought up. And, some people answered them as if they were brought up that day--I'd guess some of the original posters on those old posts are either experienced cruisers by now or either gotten too old to cruise and and threw in the towel and quit !
Sometimes we do see something funny about cruising--I saw a video on a social site a few weeks ago about this brawl that broke out at the Guy's Burger station on a Carnival- ship---looked like close to a dozen or so --it's amazing people will get into a fight and brawl about a hamburger--guess they had never had one before !

I'm like you--I'll just keep on cruising
til I get too tired of it, too broke to cruise or too old !!
Happy sailing to you !!
