The extra cabin would be the same as if someone booked just one, unless there is a special single price, you pay for 2, so certainly not cost effective.

You're right Donna. There are a few adjoining cabins available, but it'd be booking a cabin, for a single. Very expensive!

To be specific, Carnival decided last July that solo pax didnt pay, they raised all the supplements to 200%. Rarely I find one for Carnival less than 200%.

So you pay the cruisefare for two, for the one extra pax.

Its why Im turning to RCL, they have a lot of discounted solo supplements.

Im sure Carnival did a study on the spending onboard for solo pax and determined it wasnt in their best interests to encourge them. You used to be able to book 1As for 150% up until last July.

If you book another room for a third person you will pay "double occupancy" for that person. That means you will pay for two people even though one is in the room.

There are some sailings that have "single supplements" that are less. That means you may be able to get another room for 125%, 150% of the double fare.

You can always find one more person to help with the fare and share the cabin.

Take care,
Mike

VTG you can click on singles discounts on the left hand side of the home page. I'v found as few as ONE carnival cruise out of what 23 ships and all the cruises for Carnival. ONE.

I check regularly since Im cruising solo these days and the Carnival cruises with less than 200% are few and far between. Scarce enough that to me for Carnival lately, they just do not want solo cruisers I am convinced. No other cruiseline has so few less than 200% cruises.

The ones that I find for all cruiselines are almost always out of FL.
