Default Getting a table for two at dinner?

Anyone know if u can request a table for two before you cruise for dinner? Last year for our honeymoon they stuck us with same Siders! So I asked twice to be switched and the maitre'd did switch us but I wish it was easier than that. Thanks

I believe you can always "request" a table for two, but it doesn't work out all the time. In that case you have to try once you are oboard.

If your cruise is not in the very near future you try to ask John Heald at his blog (John Heald's Blog) or at his FB page.

He is about a month behind on emails at his blog. There is a place on there to specificly make MDR requests which might speed it up.

His FB page may be the better way to go...or post at both.

Just keep in mind that he only passes on the request to the MD. There is no guarantee you will get the table.

When you first board the ship make a point to go to the MDR and see the MD with your request. Its possible they can do it then.

The Maitre 'd is always available on embarkation day, usually from 12:30 or so, just for requests like yours. We ALWAYS go to the dining room, and check our table assignment,,for just the opposite reason than yours. We enjoy the others at our table, and always ask for a large table. If that isn't what we've been assigned, then the Maitre 'd is right there, to take your request, and more often than not, fix it right then, and there.
Have a GREAT cruise, and enjoy that table for two!

Thanks for all the ideas. I will definitely go to the maitre'd on day one. I will also call in advance as we might be too late to get John to request it for us. I'll try though..thanks again!

Yep, Maitre 'd on embarkation day is your best bet. Look at the table assignment on your sign-n-sail card, go to the dining room to check it out, and if it isn't what you want, request a change right then. That'll git-r-done.
